Godfrey, Eric and Albert completed the route in 4.5 days in May, staying at Grange-over-Sands,
Kirkby Stephen, Barnard Castle, Durham and finally South Shields (having cycled up the coast from
Wearmouth on the new Two Rivers Cycleway), and at an average speed of 9mph
